Gates of Mount Valdrok is an activity in The ClueFinders Reading Adventures Ages 9-12: Mystery of the Missing Amulet.
Description[]
In order to get past the gates to reach the peak of Mount Valdrok, the correct password must be entered at each gate. The password must be deduced through trial and error. The passwords can range from three to five letters long, depending on the difficulty level set for the activity. The player can type any sequence of letters that is the length of the password. The two rightmost columns display feedback for the player's input. The first of the two rightmost columns shows the number of correct letters in the right places, and the second column shows the number of correct letters in the wrong places. Using this information, the player must find the correct password. If the correct password isn't found within 15 tries, the password will reset.
There are four gates that must be opened to reach the peak of Mount Valdrok.
Leveling[]
The activity has four difficulty levels. The content for each level is as follows:
- Level one: Each password is three letters long.
- Level two: Each password is four letters long.
- Level three: Each password is four letters long. The words in this level are more difficult than those in the previous level.
- Level four: Each password is five letters long.
