The ClueFinders 3rd Grade Adventures: Mystery of Mathra[]
According to a thousand-year-old legend, the ancient Numerians built a great city in the rainforest. One dark night, a monster named Mathra appeared out of nowhere, attacking wild animals of the jungle. The Numerians caught Mathra and trapped him in a deep dungeon in their city. Fearing he might escape, they abandoned their city and locked the door with a golden key, which they split it in two and buried them in puzzles in two different regions of the rainforest.
In the modern era, Fletcher Q. Limburger used the legend to keep people away from the Lost City so he could collect animals for his fur company. He disguised his airplane as an imitation of Mathra and trapped Dr. Horace Pythagoras, who was close to discovering his operation. Later, when Limburger is leaving the rainforest after his defeat, the real Mathra appears.
The ClueFinders: The Incredible Toy Store Adventure![]
Several stuffed toys and a sign based on Mathra appear on the top of the left-most shelf on the second floor of toy store.
Trivia[]
- Mathra's name is likely based on a combination of 'math' and 'Mothra', the latter being the name of a monster character appearing in the Godzilla series.
